The 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) serves as the official adopted plan for the north central Pennsylvania region and will be used by transportation officials and decision makers to guide the expenditure of transportation dollars for at least a twenty-year period. The long range transportation plan has a multi-modal focus including roadways, public transportation, bicycle/pedestrian, freight, rail, and air facilities. The plan also looks at the effect transportation has on land use and economic development throughout the region; the environment and transportation; develops strategies to achieve regional goals and objectives; contains a fiscally-constrained list of region transportation investments; and uses performance-based planning to ensure efficient use of public resources.
